Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Our client is currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support equipment and processes used in the production of high-reliability electronic circuit card and system assemblies. The role focuses on equipment sustainment, yield improvement, new product introduction support, and continuous improvement within a Lean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support and maintenance for SMT, PTH, and systems assembly equipment.
  • Monitor build quality, identify yield issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure equipment safety, preventative maintenance compliance, and maximum uptime across production and inspection equipment.
  • Support NPI activities, including equipment programming, debugging, and ordering of stencils, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Program and debug computer-controlled manufacturing and inspection equipment.
  • Manage equipment spares, housekeeping, and work area organisation.
  • Support lean product flows, process improvements, new equipment installation, and additive manufacturing initiatives.
  • Train technicians and operators as required.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and risk assessment requirements.
  • Take a leadership role during shifts to maintain productivity and throughput.
  • Travel as required for new equipment selection.

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years in a certified electronics manufacturing environment applying Lean principles.
  • Qualified trades personnel with relevant industrial experience will be considered.
  • Education
  • Level 6 qualification in Electronics, Mechanical/Automation Electrical, Technology, Mechatronics, or equivalent.

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Continuous improvement and Lean mindset with both short- and long-term focus.
