Maintenance Manager – Cork - Life Sciences

We’re looking for a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead our high-performing maintenance function in Cork. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you'll play a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly—ensuring equipment reliability, team development, and long-term asset performance in a regulated manufacturing environment. You'll be a key player on our Cork Extended Leadership Team (ELT), helping to shape the future of operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership, drive change, and make a real impact in a mission-critical area of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide leadership of safety initiatives and practices to develop and maintain an injury free workplace Develop and deliver a maintenance strategy (including autonomous, preventative and predictive maintenance) in partnership with other leaders within the plant.
- Manage Maintenance capital improvement projects to cost, schedule & time
- Drives the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
- Maintain and develop a maintenance management system. Establish sustainable system for effective management and control of technical documentation, maintenance routines, maintenance scheduling and spare parts.
- Establish appropriate maintenance metrics to improve overall asset life, maintenance productivity, and overall equipment operating costs
- Manage projects to improve equipment performance and replace existing equipment.
- Ensure all regulatory standards are followed including health & safety and environmental standards Work with project engineers to ensure new equipment at the site meets maintainability and operability requirements.
- Responsibility for leading the Maintenance team with an emphasis on people development & collaboration to drive performance.
Who You Are:
- A proven Maintenance Manager or Engineering leader with a track record of delivering results.
- A degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- A Master's degree or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus
- Comfortable leading in a fast-paced, regulated environment—ideally with experience in medical devices, pharma, or similar.
- Deep knowledge of maintenance best practices, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Strong technical background—hands-on understanding of injection moulding, packaging lines, bulk chemical processes, and facilities systems.
- Experience using maintenance management systems to drive scheduling, tracking, and planning.
- A clear and confident communicator who can lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the business.
- Passionate about developing people, fostering collaboration, and building a high-performance culture.
