Maintenance & Purchasing Coordinator

Our client, a leading timber processor in Ireland and the UK, is looking to add a Maintenance & Purchasing Coordinator to their team. This is a full-time, permanent position and will be based fully onsite in Fermoy, Cork. The Maintenance Stores & Purchasing Coordinator will report to the Maintenance Manager and will support the team of fitters and the wider company with purchasing.

Responsibilities:

  • Procure mechanical, electrical, and consumable goods.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate on prices and manage ordering and timely delivery of stock.
  • Create and process purchase orders on the PEMAC system.
  • Liaise with maintenance and production teams in ordering of goods.
  • Monitor delivery of goods, ensuring documentation is checked against original order placed and any discrepancies are actioned.
  • Maintain effective administration of the system for storing and accessing information of inventory.
  • Carry out general stores upkeep and perform stock checks via the PEMAC system.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with all plant staff, senior management and suppliers.
  • Previous experience in a purchasing/procurement role.
  • Background in maintenance or production is desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel.
  • High level of problem-solving skills and technical awareness.
  • Self-motivated and excellent organizational skills.
