Job Title: Junior Mechanical Engineer (Revit/Inventor)

A leading mechanical fabrication and installation specialist delivering high-quality solutions to the data centre sector is seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. The organisation designs, manufactures, and installs mechanical systems and prefabricated modules for major data centre projects across Ireland and Europe and continues to experience strong growth.
Role Overview
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will support the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical fabrication and installation projects for data centres. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer with strong Autodesk Revit/Inventor skills who is looking to develop within a fast-paced and technically advanced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and coordination of 3D BIM models for mechanical systems using Revit.
- Produce detailed mechanical drawings and fabrication models for manufacturing and site installation.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure accurate design output.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Support clash detection and coordination with other disciplines (electrical, structural, architectural).
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Assist with material take-offs, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all drawings and models comply with project standards and industry regulations.
- Provide engineering support to fabrication and site installation teams as required.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering or BIM-focused role (placement experience considered).
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM modelling is essential.
- Experience producing detailed mechanical or fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems within industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre environments is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and other design software beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and meet deadlines.
