We have an attractive opportunity for an experienced Head of Digital / IT to join a well-known healthcare provider here in Cork on a permanent basis. This is a new, strategic leadership role and will drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive digital roadmap that aligns technology investments with the company’s mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape and champion the company’s digital vision, leading the organisation-wide digital transformation roadmap and advocating for digital at Executive and Board level.
- Provide decisive governance, chairing digital steering groups, setting prioritisation frameworks, and ensuring cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and robust KPI measurement.
- Drive organisational cultural change, building digital confidence, addressing resistance, and embedding a human-centred, innovation-focused mindset across all teams.
- Build strategic partnerships, collaborating with clinical leaders, digital teams, technology partners, academic institutions, and community stakeholders to co-design impactful solutions.
- Grow digital capability, delivering a comprehensive digital skills strategy, mentoring leaders, and preparing the organisation for major programmes.
- Lead data and information strategy, establishing strong data governance and driving AI readiness.
- Advance technology innovation by evaluating and adopting emerging technologies, ensuring user-centred design and promoting a security-aware culture.
- Manage performance and continuous improvement, ensuring digital initiatives deliver measurable value, leading post-implementation learning, and sustaining momentum through change.
Requirements:
- Holds a 3rd level qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Significant Information Technology experience at a senior level in a large organisation including senior stakeholder engagement and managing resources at a senior management level.
- Expertise in information technology strategy development and planning of emerging technologies.
- Direct responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple large scale ICT solutions.
- Significant vendor management experience, gained from working with a variety of information technology vendors.
- Financial budget management experience.
- People management experience.
