What You’ll Do:
As Financial Controller, you’ll take the reins of the company’s financial operations, driving performance and ensuring robust compliance. Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and presenting accurate financial reports, including monthly management accounts and cash flow statements.
- Preparation of annual audit file and working with external partner for sign off on statutory accounts.
- Managing month-end financial and inventory close processes, to ensure they are completed efficiently.
- Monitoring daily cashflow and managing foreign currency hedging effectively.
- Prepare, reconcile and manage the weekly/monthly payroll with external partner.
- Ensure compliance with filing of statutory returns - VAT, RTD, Intrastat, and PAYE.
- Review costs and pricing strategies, including regular margin reviews to ensure financial performance is aligned with business objectives.
- Overseeing internal controls, risk management, and financial compliance activities.
- Collaborating with the Board to develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and long-term plans, including preparation of annual budgets by location and department.
- Managing the finance team to foster a high-performance culture.
What You’ll Bring:
- A solid understanding of statutory financial obligations inc. VAT, RTD, Intrastat and PAYE.
- Excellent analytical mindset, with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills to manage and mentor a small finance team and work closely with directors and stakeholders.
- Commercial focus with ability to analyse costs and manage sales pricing & margins.
- Ability to align financial plans with business objectives to support longer-term goals.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage and maintain the fixed asset register and evaluate new investment opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
- 3+ years’ experience in a senior financial position.
- Technical proficiency in financial software and tools, ideally in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP, Excel, Power BI and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
