Our client is keen to hire a Field Sales Representative to join their team in Sligo on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious sales professional to join a well-established brand with a strong customer base.
Key Responsibilities of a Field Sales Representative (Full job description available on request):
- Account Management: Manage, nurture, and grow an existing portfolio of key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Business Development: Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities to expand our customer base.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed agreed sales and margin targets for the assigned territory.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers by becoming a trusted advisor, understanding their needs, and providing effective product solutions.
- Journey Planning: Design and execute a strategic journey plan to ensure regular and effective customer contact across the entire territory.
- Quotation & Negotiation: Prepare and present detailed quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and successfully close sales.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and new product innovations to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaboration: Liaise effectively with internal teams, including the internal sales desk, purchasing, and warehouse staff, to ensure a seamless service delivery for your customers.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales activity, pipeline, and market feedback to the management team.
Ideal background:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of field sales experience, preferably within the electrical wholesale industry or a closely related sector (e.g., M&E supplies, building materials, industrial supplies).
- Product Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of electrical products.
- Sales Acumen: A proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a competitive B2B environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to deal with decision-makers at all levels.
- Self-Motivated: A high-energy self-starter with the ability to work autonomously, manage your own diary, and take ownership of your territory.
- Customer Focus: A genuine commitment to providing best-in-class customer service.
- Commercial Awareness: Commercially astute with the ability to manage profit margins and contribute to overall business growth.
- IT Skills: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using CRM software.
- Driving Licence: A full, clean Irish or EU driving licence is essential.
