Our Client based in Ringsend, Dublin is seeking to hire an experienced Engineering Manager to join their experienced team on site. The Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing maintenance and engineering team across a busy port facility. This is a safety-critical, hands-on leadership role focused on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of all plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
The role is grounded in a strong safety-first culture, ensuring all activities uphold the highest health, safety and environmental standards. A key focus is on people to developing individuals, building effective teams and fostering relationships to ensure a collaborative and customer-focused service delivery. The Engineering Manager will be a strong, people-focused leader who places safety at the heart of everything they do. They will have a proven ability to manage, develop and motivate engineering teams while driving performance, compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead with a strong safety-first mindset, promoting health, safety and environmental excellence.
Manage, coach and develop a multi-skilled engineering team.
Oversee planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
Drive continuous improvement and implement best practice in maintenance and engineering.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, safety, HR, finance and project teams.
Support capital projects, contractor management and long-term asset strategies.
Monitor KPIs, control budgets and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
Promote and implement engineering best practices including 5S principles, continuous improvement initiatives and engineering standards.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven engineering management experience in a safety-critical, unionised environment.
Minimum of three years’ experience in an Engineering Management role.
Strong leadership and people development skills.
Background in maintenance planning, asset management and compliance.
Experience in delivering capital projects and managing third-party contractors.
Solid commercial awareness and budget control capability.
Practical knowledge of relevant legislation and modern maintenance techniques (e.g. RCM, TPM, CBM)
