Our client, a leading Irish manufacturer of high-performance architectural building components, is seeking a Design Engineer to join their innovative and collaborative engineering team. Based in North Dublin, this is a fantastic opportunity for a structural engineer with reinforced concrete and façade design experience to take ownership of complex, high-profile projects across commercial, healthcare, residential and leisure sectors.

You will be involved from early concept design through to detailed manufacturing drawings and site coordination — offering an end-to-end, tangible engineering experience within a highly supportive and technically expert environment.

Key Responsibilities of Design Engineer:

  • Design and development of bespoke architectural precast concrete façade systems, including all structural supports and fixings.
  • Collaborate with client-side design teams to create holistic, buildable façade solutions tailored to project-specific architectural and structural constraints.
  • Liaise with internal manufacturing and site installation teams to ensure efficient, practical designs that support ease of transport, erection and installation.
  • Produce detailed technical calculations and review production-ready drawings.
  • Work on both early-stage concept and detailed design packages.
  • Report directly to a Senior Structural Engineer and be supported by a highly experienced, multidisciplinary team.

Key Requirements of Design Engineer:

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ design experience in the construction industry, ideally with exposure to reinforced concrete and steel structures.
  • Strong working knowledge of Eurocodes, building regulations, and façade detailing.
  • Proficient in relevant design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, SketchUp, Excel, and structural analysis tools).
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work, while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Ambition to achieve Chartered status — in-house mentoring and support provided.
  • Occasional travel to UK/Ireland project sites may be required.

What’s on Offer

  • Excellent salary package with performance bonus opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements (hybrid options).
  • Supportive, dynamic engineering culture with a strong mentoring framework.
  • Opportunity to work on some of Ireland and the UK’s most iconic building projects.
  • Clear development pathway toward senior/chartered roles.
