Group Commercial Manager – Ireland (Multi-Site Role)

Our client, a well-established multi-site distribution group, is seeking to recruit an experienced Group Commercial Manager to lead and develop its Sales and Purchasing functions across Ireland.

Operating with an extensive portfolio of long-standing customers, the business is focused on strengthening its market position through strategic commercial leadership, enhanced customer engagement, and the continued development of supplier partnerships both domestically and internationally.

The successful Group Commercial Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading and shaping the Group’s overall sales and purchasing strategy
  • Working closely with individual business management teams to drive commercial performance
  • Developing and implementing structured sales action plans and marketing initiatives
  • Encouraging and supporting sales teams to maintain regular, proactive face-to-face engagement with customers
  • Strengthening relationships with an established customer base and identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts
  • Developing and executing a cohesive group purchasing strategy
  • Managing supplier relationships and identifying new supplier opportunities, including international sourcing
  • Supporting teams in achieving product cost and margin targets
  • Driving commercial best practice and performance consistency across all depots
  • Spending time across multiple depot locations as well as undertaking field-based visits with customers and suppliers

The successful Group Commercial Manager will be:

  • An experienced senior commercial leader with a strong background in both sales and purchasing
  • Commercially driven, strategic, and results-focused
  • Experienced in managing established account portfolios within a credit-based trading environment
  • A confident relationship builder with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
  • Comfortable operating across multiple sites and leading cross-functional teams
  • Strategic in approach, with the ability to translate vision into practical action plans
