Job Opportunity: Field-Based Calibration Technician
Our client, a market leader in supplying the Irish Polymer Industry for over 30 years, is currently seeking a Field-Based Calibration Technician to support client sites across Ireland.
This role involves installing, calibrating, maintaining, and servicing a range of injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment. Candidates with experience in electrical, mechatronic, or calibration engineering are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibrate and maintain Fanuc Injection Moulding Machines & Piovan Material Feed Equipment (Dryers, Blenders, etc.).
Perform temperature, pressure, speed, humidity, and weight calibrations on various machinery.
Interpret drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and machine specs for calibration planning.
Install, level, commission, verify, and calibrate new machinery.
Diagnose and resolve electrical/electromechanical faults on-site.
Coordinate with the Scheduler for calibrations, spare parts, and equipment.
Conduct equipment health checks and provide condition reports.
Maintain calibration kits, ensuring all tools are certified and operational.
Communicate with customers to understand and meet their needs.
Prepare and sign off on required job reports.
Adhere to all electrical and industrial safety standards.
What You Need:
Degree or trade qualification in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering.
5+ years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing environments, specializing in plastics machinery calibration and maintenance.
Strong skills in electrical and mechanical schematics reading.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Deep understanding of industrial safety practices.
Excellent communication skills for internal and customer interactions.
