Analytical Lab Technician (Part Time)

Our client, a global healthcare leader is keen to hire an Analytical Lab Technician to join their team in Cavan on an initial 12month contract. This role will work three weekdays per week consisting of 8-hour shifts. The ideal candidate will perform analytical testing to ensure quality of raw materials, in-process, and finished products in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities of an Analytical Lab Technician (Full job description available on request):

  • Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) rules; wear appropriate PPE and use required controls (fume hoods, ventilation, etc.).
  • Conduct analytical tests (HPLC, ICP, and others) on raw materials, in-process, and finished products, including product complaint samples.
  • Maintain accurate records, review and adhere to SOPs/test methods, and ensure correct waste disposal.
  • Support troubleshooting, investigations, and method transfers.
  • Contribute to laboratory goals, continuous improvement, and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues and adapt to updated procedures or plant needs.

Ideal background:

  • BSc in Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline with strong analytical focus; 2+ years’ experience in an analytical role preferred.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, ICP).
  • Understanding of method development, validation, and transfer.
  • Strong compliance awareness and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
