Senior Policy Analyst – Energy Sector

We are working in partnership with a leading body in Ireland's Energy Sector to hire a Senior Policy Analyst to support energy policy and regulatory development within Ireland’s solar and renewable energy sector. This position works closely with the Policy Manager and Director of Policy & Regulation to contribute to policy research, regulatory submissions, and stakeholder engagement. The role supports national renewable energy, decarbonisation, and energy transition objectives. This is a permanent position supporting remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal policy and technical Working Groups including scheduling, drafting minutes, maintaining action logs, and supporting cross-functional delivery
  • Research, draft and support evidence-based submissions to public policy and regulatory consultations
  • Engage with Government Departments, Ministers’ Offices, regulators, system operators, local authorities and industry representatives
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement records via CRM platforms
  • Provide support for member engagement relating to policy advocacy
  • Assist with briefings, presentation materials, webinars and industry events
  • Track energy sector policy and regulatory developments and contribute to internal research projects

Requirements:

  • Third-level qualification related to: Engineering, Mathematics (preferred), Science, Geography, Economics, Business or Public Policy
  • Minimum 3+ years relevant energy sector experience, including research-based post-graduate experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to summarise complex information
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organisational and project coordination skills
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of Irish energy and electricity sector including grid, planning, regulation or renewable energy development
  • Experience in policy advocacy or working with government or regulatory bodies
  • Administrative or team coordination experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Excel and CRM systems
