Our client, a leader in the Pharmaceutical Industry is seeking a Scientist (PDS&T Bioassay) to join their team in their Westport Facility.

Job Summary:

Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Demonstrate experimental precision and strong data interpretation skills and should possess understanding of core discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • Completely follow established experimental protocols and assess results with supervision.

  • Recognise and report experimental variances.

  • Learn and effectively implement new experimental protocols and/or techniques.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and optimise laboratory operations for efficient use of time and laboratory supplies and reagents, when appropriate.

  • Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.

  • Analyse and critique results, noting significant deviations.

  • Learn and understand new experimental techniques.

  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in his/her field. Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required.

  • Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation. Impact projects mostly through lab-based activities.

  • Apply basic scientific principles to research.

  • Prepare buffers and solutions required for testing

  • Enter laboratory results on sample management systems

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 6-12 months experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education.

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.

  • GMP Experience

  • Experience in procurement and/or shipping and/or sample management

  • Ability to work independently

  • Bioassay/Cell culture/ELISA experience
