Quality Lab Technician III

Our client , a leader in the medical device industry are seeking a Quality Lab Technician to join their Galway facility. 12 month FTC with opportunity for permanent contract.


Role Overview

  • Supports complaint handling, returned product analysis, and post-market regulatory reporting for Medtronic devices.
  • Conducts lab investigations, root-cause analysis, and documentation in a regulated environment.
  • Coordinates cross-functional complaint investigations and ensures compliance with quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, testing, and investigation of returned complaint devices.
  • Document device receipt, investigation results, and escalation of quality issues.
  • Assist with developing test procedures and conducting non-routine analyses.
  • Maintain lab equipment: calibration, maintenance, alignment checks.
  • Support internal/external audits and ensure adherence to all regulatory procedures.
  • Communicate findings and updates to CQXM management and quality teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Support CQXM deliverables during new product introduction.

Key Requirements

  • Level 8 degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience in medical devices or regulated industry (preferred).
  • Laboratory experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical writing capability and familiarity with problem-solving/statistical tools.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time, and take initiative.
  • Team-oriented with strong relationship-building skills.
