The Job:
We are currently working with a leading pharma company located in South Dublin to hire a Medical Manager to join their Immunology division on a 7 month contract, working 3/4 days per week.
This role involves leading the Medical Affairs function within the Brand Team, providing strategic and scientific guidance to both internal and external stakeholders in the designated therapeutic area. The successful candidate will also support research and medical education initiatives as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scientific Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the therapeutic area to facilitate credible dissemination of scientific information and engage in informed scientific discussions with physicians and external experts.
- Conference Participation: Attend relevant scientific society meetings and conferences, summarizing key messages for internal use, including new trends in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatments.
- Internal Training: Coordinate and deliver training within the medical division and to cross-functional brand teams on the therapeutic area and related products.
- External Relationships: Foster and enhance the scientific credibility of the company with established and emerging external experts.
- Information Requests: Respond to scientific and medical information requests, providing key updates to external experts as appropriate.
- Clinical Studies: Participate in the setup, oversight, and follow-up of assigned clinical studies and Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) projects.
- Scientific Resource: Serve as a scientific resource for clinical study investigators, supporting study-related activities and building strong scientific relationships.
- Global Collaboration: Establish close working relationships with relevant members of the global therapeutic area team.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies, and best practice standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: BSc, MPharm, or PhD in a scientific discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a field medical role or previous Medical Manager position.
- Knowledge: Understanding of scientific methods applied to clinical research and current legislative/regulatory controls.
- Desirable Experience: Previous experience in the therapeutic area, clinically focused roles, and customer-facing positions in the healthcare industry.
- Medical Affairs Exposure: Experience in medical affairs or medical information functions within the healthcare industry.
- Research Presentation: Proficiency in presenting and interpreting scientific or clinical research publications.
