As a Junior QS/Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commercial team with accurate cost management while also contributing to the growth of the business through sales and business development activities. Job Responsibilities:
- Reviewing tender enquiries and completing detailed tender analysis
- Consulting with Clients to understand their requirements and developing tailored solutions
- Preparing and submitting Pricing Proposals in conjunction with the Head of Sales
- Supporting business development by identifying new opportunities, contributing to sales presentations, and engaging with prospective clients
- Timely follow-up of submissions with designated customer accounts and proactive pipeline management
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships to drive repeat business and expand the company’s customer base
- Contract Administration – Execution of Sub-Contract and Collateral Warranty agreements, monitoring compliance and managing variations
- Risk Management – Identifying and assessing financial and contractual risks
- Conducting Project Cost Analysis and preparing reports for senior management
- Negotiating and administering variations
- Liaising with Suppliers on product and pricing updates
- Preparing Final Accounts, ensuring all costs are accounted for in order to ensure timely settlement
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all relevant standards, regulations and company policies
Experience and Qualifications:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction sector
- Knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations
- A natural commercial mindset with an interest in sales and business development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client and supplier relationships
- Proficiency in CRM (Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD or similar, with a track record of maintaining accurate estimating records and customer interactions
- Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Full Clean Driver’s License
