We are looking for an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee group financial operations and support global financial management for our client, a leader in the pharmaceutical industry.
This role will ensure accurate reporting, compliance with international standards, and delivery of financial insights to drive performance and support strategic initiatives.
This role is based in Athlone, it is a hybrid role once someone is established in the role (working 1 day per week from home).
Responsibilities:
- Lead month, quarter, and year-end close for multiple entities.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements, manage intercompany transactions, and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
- Deliver financial analysis, performance reporting, and insights to senior leadership.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning across group entities.
- Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.
- Lead and develop the finance team while driving process improvements and system enhancements.
- Support M&A activity, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives including ERP implementation and automation.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with 5+ years’ PQE.
- Strong background in group controllership within multinational or listed companies.
- Expertise in IFRS, consolidation, and multi-entity, cross-border operations.
- Proficient in financial systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across geographies and cultures.
- Commercially astute, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
