We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineer to join our medical device client's team in Galway on a two year contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage maintenance of electrical infrastructure using the site CMMS with coordination across teams.
  • Oversee Life Safety Systems (fire detection, suppression, emergency lighting) and security systems, working with vendors and internal teams.
  • Administer the security access control system, approving all access changes.
  • Lead electrical infrastructure change requests and ensure updates are captured in the CMMS and record drawings.
  • Support asset management and conduct annual equipment condition assessments.
  • Plan and oversee facility upgrades, reconfigurations, and maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering and architectural partners to develop layouts, designs, and specifications.
  • Prepare and manage bids, contracts, and project cost estimates, ensuring construction aligns with approved plans and schedules.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in R&D, systems, or technology implementation.
  • Strong technical expertise and ability to solve complex problems independently.
  • Experience managing projects from design to implementation.
  • Proven ability to mentor or guide junior colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of identifying process or system improvements.
