EHS Specialist - FTC

Our clients are a leading producer and supplier of high-value, mission-critical materials, ingredients, and additives that are vital to a diverse range of industries, including Pharma, Med Devices, Food Production, and Industrial sectors.

They are currently looking to hire a EHS Specialist to join their team based on-site in Portlaoise on a 9 Month Fixed Term Contract.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full adherence to company EH&S policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements.
  • Drive and support site compliance with all corporate and regulatory EH&S standards.
  • Assist in the development and site-wide implementation of ISO 45001.
  • Contribute to a range of EH&S programs.
  • Provide EH&S input and guidance on engineering and facility projects.
  • Coordinate and deliver EH&S-related training, directly or via external providers.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure EH&S program compliance.
  • Lead and document incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive EH&S records and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate closely with the Site General Manager, EH&S Director and cross-functional teams to support a culture of continuous EH&S improvement.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably chemical manufacturing).
  • Experience with Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects is advantageous.
  • Strong training delivery skills – QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment – both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated good judgment and effective decision-making skills.
