Our client a leading construction and materials group have an opening for a Central Control Room Operator responsible for monitoring, operating, and managing the cement production process from a centralised control room. The job is on a 4-shift cycle, working 12-hour day and night shifts. It involves both desk-based control room work and some on-site sampling and inspections. Full training will be provided, and a structured progression plan is in place, making it ideal for someone looking to build a career or reskill.
Key Responsibilities of Central Control Room Operator :
Operate major process lines (like kilns, mills, crushers) using computer systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Continuously monitor performance indicators to maintain optimal production levels.
Quickly react to any equipment faults or production issues to minimise downtime.
Coordinate with on-site teams (maintenance, engineering, operations) to troubleshoot problems.
Take and analyse product samples to ensure they meet ISO9000 quality standards.
Follow and promote strict health, safety, and environmental protocols.
Record operating data and generate reports on production performance.
Help identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and product quality.
Communicate clearly with plant staff and management.
Work closely with a team to support plant operations and maintenance.
