Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper required for 10 – 15 hours per week for a medical device company in Galway.
Contract situation situation for 6 months. Hybrid.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain digital and physical purchase, delivery, invoice filing systems.
- Record financial transactions in accounts system currently using Excel.
- Processing invoices, including 3-way matching of invoices to PO’s and delivery dockets, and getting approval to pay invoices (i.e. confirming the deliveries have met spec’s or that services have been received)
- Preparing accounts payable payment run’s, loading payments on the bank system and processing the payment in the accounts systems – payment are sent to the CFO for review and approval.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Record fixed asset purchases in accounts file
- Set-up new vendors on Accounting System (when implemented) and on bank system, including doing phone verification with vendors of bank details for new vendors and where vendors notify us of a change in their bank details
- Process payroll & coordinate with finance & HR on same
- Record payroll to accounts file
- Support audits by providing documentation and reports.
- Support with R&D tax credit request and reporting
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an account assistant, finance, or bookkeeping role.
- AAT qualification (or working towards) preferred but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and/or accounting software (e.g., SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks).
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with colleagues across the business.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
