Junior and Senior Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant required for Galway based company.
Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing accountancy and payroll practice based in Galway who work with a wide variety of clients ranging from small businesses to large employers, providing efficient, compliant, and technology-driven financial services. Managing high-volume payrolls for clients across Ireland
Responsibilities
- Process daily, weekly, and monthly bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and bank reconciliations
- Input and manage financial data using accounting software (Surf, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
- Process payroll for clients using Thesaurus or BrightPay, including high-volume payrolls
- Ensure compliance with Revenue requirements and filing deadlines
- Liaise with clients in a timely and professional manner to request and clarify information
- Work with other team members to support accurate year-end financial and payroll reporting
Key Requirements for both roles:
- Junior Bookkeeper - 1–2 years’ practice experience in a bookkeeping or payroll support role
- Comfortable using a variety of accounting and payroll platforms
- High level of attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
- Senior Bookkeeper - 3–5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping/payroll role within an accountancy or payroll practice
- Advanced Excel capabilities and strong understanding of data analysis
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and meet deadlines independently
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and Revenue compliance
- Experience training or reviewing the work of junior team members is an advantage
