Great Places to Work Event 2018

Great Places to Work Event 2018  What a night at the Great Places to Work Event! Over 900 attendees this year which is a record and The Clayton Hotel Burlington Road deserve great credit for running a smooth operation ensuring everyone was well looked after as always. The brilliant Camembert Quartet, house band of the Late Late Show, entertained us for the night and kept the proceedings moving along while John Ryan, CEO of GPTW, was excellent once again as the MC for the evening. There were guest appearances from An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar whose speech was very entertaining – perhaps we will see The Dáil entering GPTW next year! And Mark McCabe had everyone on their feet singing and dancing along to Maniac 2000! We are absolutely delighted to be recognised as a Great Place to Work for the fourth year in a row. Achieving fourth Best Small Workplace in Ireland – up from ninth the previous year – is something we are very proud of. We had a great night of celebrations with colleagues from each of our six offices nationwide  – all of whom are members of our Culture Team. Collins McNicholas Wins Sligo Business of The Year 2017

On Friday last, December 1st, Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group were winners of The Sligo Business of The Year at the annual Sligo Chamber of Commerce dinner. This award was humbling & honouring as we know of so many fantastic businesses in Sligo at the moment. When I think back to 1998 and we were operating with an Apple Mac and the Golden Pages phone book in a single office, it is clear to see how far we have come. We had youth and naivety on our side, it can be a great combination. From that point on we have grown the business with great support from the business community in Sligo and the North West Region. Just over two years ago Michelle Murphy, Antoinette O’Flaherty and myself completed an MBO to take over the business. We now employ over 50 people across six offices, 15 of whom are based in Sligo including our recruitment, finance and marketing teams. We have ambitions to grow the business in the coming years. We have had a lot of help and support along the way. I would like to thank our customers, suppliers and partners locally who have supported our journey over the past 19 years in Sligo and 27 years as the group – thank you all for your support and loyalty. We have been blessed with some loyal customers whom we have had the pleasure of building real partnerships with. On the night, a number of other extremely talented Sligo business people were also acknowledged. EJ’s Menswear – an incredible example of innovation and brilliant marketing. They are a...

Collins McNicholas Named One of the Best Workplaces in Ireland for the Third Consecutive Year

What a night at the Great Places to Work Event! We had one hell of a party. Over 800 attendees, over 100 companies, guest appearances from Mario Rosenstock (in the guise of Daniel O’ Donnell, Jose Mourinho, and Enda Kenny) and Jason Donovan! For those of you who were not fans of Neighbours in the mid-1980s – Jason was a really big deal back then. As always the brilliant Camembert Quartet entertained us for the night and kept the proceedings moving along, and John Ryan, CEO of GTPW, was excellent once again as the MC for the evening. We are absolutely delighted to be recognised as a Great Place to Work for the third year in a row, and making it into the top ten Great Places to Work in Ireland for the second year in a row was really special and something we are really proud of. Well done to all the companies who achieved the status of Great Place to Work in 2017. It is a fantastic endorsement of the excellent employee engagement initiatives that are being worked on throughout the country in a variety of companies big and small, it clearly shows that employee engagement is alive and well. We heard about some brilliant employee engagement initiatives from companies such as Cisco, Abbvie, SAP, Alkermes, Regeneron and many more. But is not just multinationals, Irish SMEs are really awaking to the idea that indeed “culture does eat strategy for breakfast every day.” Finally, on behalf of everyone in Collins McNicholas I want to say a BIG BIG thank you to all those who contributed to...
