Collins McNicholas is delighted to announce that we have been officially recognised as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces 2015.

Wow, where do I start? What a night we had last Wednesday at the Great Places to Work event in Dublin. They had promised us a party and they certainly delivered!

Johnny Logan’s surprise appearance sent the crowd into a frenzy. Johnny still has it and he belted out some of his Eurovision winners and posed with hundreds for selfies on his way out. The fabulous Camembert Quartet who entertained us for the night with our very own Michelle Murphy joining them on stage to rock the house with a few numbers.

Jim Barry,  MD of the Barry Group for his honesty and passionate acceptance speech when being awarded the title of Ireland’s Most Trusted Leader – what an accolade for the leader of an Irish owned family business to win.  Jim spoke about not settling for being just a good company and that their ambition was to develop into a great company. The Great Places to Work process gave the Barry Group a roadmap towards achieving Greatness.

It was refreshing to meet so many companies (everyone from the largest multinationals to smaller Irish owned SMEs like ourselves) who are passionate and really committed to making their workplace a Great Place to Work for their teams.  In total 59 companies were awarded The Great Places to Work status.

The timing of the award was especially significant for Collins McNicholas as 25 years ago last week our MD Colman Collins started off in business as Colman Collins & Associates and on the 1st October that year Val McNicholas joined and Collins McNicholas was born.

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group has come a long way in the past 25 years and from day one Colman & Val created a culture that our people have always been at the centre of our business.  It was fitting that 25 years after setting up in business Colman should accept an award recognising Collins McNicholas as a winner in the Great Places to Work small company category (20 – 100 employees). This is a fantastic achievement when you think that this is the category where most companies are positioned as there are more than 80,000 SMEs in Ireland.

Winning this award is down to the exceptional commitment and contribution of each and every one of our hard-working teams in the company regardless of the length of service or their role within the company. Here’s to next year! We are looking forward already and are committed to this journey of looking at how we can improve and continue to be a great place to work.
