An excellent opportunity for a Vice President of Operations to join an early development and global Medical Devices company. The role can be located anywhere in Ireland and will report to the CEO in the US. The is a senior-level position and will form part of the executive board. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with extensive operations experience in the medical devices industry (in particular Class III implantable medical devices and clean room experience). He/she will have a technical and engineering background with transformational leadership experience. 

Overview of your responsibilities (full job description available on request): 

  • Lead the scale-up of manufacturing, supply, and distribution of an implantable neuromodulation system.
  • Manage the operational delivery of all suppliers, outsourced partners and in-house manufacturing.
  • Manage strategic vendor partnerships. 
  • Ensure effective planning and procurement of raw materials and components for internal/external manufacturing
  • Identify cost savings and efficiencies
  • Lead the transfer and scale-up of new products 
  • Be a strong leader with a pragmatic approach to getting the best out of a global operations team.
  • Nurture strong collaboration across operations, R&D, corporate functions and with external partners.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role:

  • A university Degree or Master’s in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Med-Tech industry.
  • Hands-on technical and operational management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, and organisational skills.
  • Deep experience in leading complex engineering problem solving, process changes and continuous improvements.
  • External manufacturing and supplier management experience
  • Class III Implantable Medical Device and Clean room experience
  • Transformational leadership experience
