UX/UI Designer (Hybrid)

We have an exciting opportunity to join a growing and innovative company as their new UI/UX Designer. Our client is an innovative tech company with new, modern offices in Cork City. This is a hybrid role and candidates from graduate level to mid-level will be considered.  As part of the team, you will be responsible for creating a cohesive user experience across the product suite. This will involve the maintenance and development of design systems as well as liaising with the marketing department, software developers, and product and project managers. The ideal candidate will use their expert experience and data from usability testing to help us create the best user experience possible for our desktop and mobile websites and applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Make use of a human-centered design process to deliver an easy-to-use user interface and user experience
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and refine requirements
  • Back up design suggestions with knowledge of best practices, industry research, and commonly known UX issues
  • Keep tabs on competitors and their products
  • Create wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Successfully hand-off UI designs to developers
  • Support developers to ensure product quality
  • Assist with planning and implementing usability testing
  • Design for accessibility standards
  • Adhere to and maintain existing design systems and libraries
  • Write flawless microcopy
  • Develop personas, scenarios, and user stories as required

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, human-computer interaction, interaction design, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of UX and design principles
  • Experience in the field of UI design (desktop, web and/or mobile)
  • Proficient with Adobe XD or similar software
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop
  • Proficiency with Adobe After Effects is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience with user testing and usability analysis
  • Clear communication
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Punctual and able to manage own time well
  • Ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines at short notice when required
  • Familiarity with Human-Computer Interaction, design patterns and design systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills (English)
