An exciting opportunity, we are partnering with a leading Irish food service provider, who are looking to hire Transport Shift Manager for their team. This is a permanent position that will be based in Cork. In this role, you will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation, you will lead Transport Team and will be responsible for the operational planning of the Distribution Centre.
Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description available on request):
- Ensuring the smooth running of depot and efficient dispatched of routes daily
- Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team in line with performance
- Maintaining open communication with departments across the business including sales, warehouse and with the transport team
- Identifies, coordinates and delivers training as appropriate to meet driver needs
- Ensuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures are followed at all times
- Applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased manner
What the ideal Transport Shift Manager looks like:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role. Must have experience with managing/supervising teams
- Experience within the distribution, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or similar industry
- Be fully proficient with IT systems such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
- Proven experience in managing teams to deliver high standards of service
- Experience in analysing business data in real-time and reacting accordingly to achieve optimum operation results
