Technical Sales Engineer Nationwide

Our client, a well established and growing multinational company based in Dublin West is looking to hire a Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist to join their young, dynamic team. They are looking for someone who is an ambitious, technically strong sales professional with an entrepreneurial spirit who has experience in the construction or engineering. Ideally having 3+ years experience.

This candidate will be in a nationwide field based role (a significant amount in Leinster), and must be able to demonstrate the technical features of the company's products, drive sales and maintain strong/key customer relations.


  • Responsible for identifying and creating new business opportunities with potential customers

  • Work with a cross-functional group including engineers, manufacturing, sales, purchasing and product management personnel to carry out project requirements in line with new product development processes and systems.

  • Responsible for driving sales through links with industry partners.

  • Collect market/competitive benchmark data and regularly review with management team(s)

  • Proactively deal with and close out customer complaints and site inspections in conjunction with other relevant departments.

  • Prepare accurate and appropriate specifications for local Architectural and design consultancies. 

  • To meet budgets and agreed targets with profitable growth for long term sustainability. 

  • Ensure effective marketing, offer submission, customer follow -ups and negotiations leading to successful acquisition of orders. 

  • Develop new and existing business promoting the company's full range of products to Tier 1 & 2 Contractors as well as Architects. 

  • Build strong relationships with new customers and existing clients. 

  • Actively promote products through seminars promotions, presentations, exhibitions etc. 

  • Actively target competitor friendly architects in order to convert projects.  

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of building material products, market intelligence, industry trends and competition in the assigned territory

  • Responsible for achieving sales targets as set out by the senior management team.


  • Third level qualification in Sales & Marketing/ Engineering or related discipline

  • 3+ years solid experience in a sales role within the construction industry.

  • Previous technical sales experience is an advantage.

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills

  • Proven ability to confidently and positively present at all levels, both internally and externally

  • Proven ability to create and maintain positive relationships and a commercial focus and ability to manage multiple projects.
