Tax Accountant, EMEA Athlone

The Role:

This Tax Accountant role will be based in Athlone with flexible hybrid working and a Permanent contract.

Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager you will support the EMEA Tax team inmanaging tax compliance and accounting for income taxes under US GAAP principles (ASC 740).


Key Responsibilities: ( Full job description available on request)

•Liaise with and provide support to local controllers in EMEA locations to ensure timely and accurate preparation of quarterly tax provisions for US GAAP.

•Liaise with local finance teams and external advisors in relation to the preparation of corporate tax filings.

•Review corporate tax returns in multiple jurisdictions in EMEA.

•Support other tax projects (M&A, tax audits, restructuring, DAC6 reporting).

•Review of statutory accounts.

•Assist with tax audits in EMEA.

•Assist with transfer pricing documentation.

•Maintain a working knowledge of Irish and foreign tax legislation.


Essential Skills / Experience:

•Professional tax qualification (AITI)

•Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA)

•Experience in Big 4 accounting firms and/or industry

•Knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision software/US GAAP tax accounting is an advantage

•Ability to analyse legislative changes and their application to a US MNC.

•International tax experience is an advantage.

Other requirements:

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Team player with the ability to work independently and with people across functions, cultures, and levels within the organization.

•Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

•Proficient in all Microsoft packages, particularly Excel.
