Job Overvew

The Supply Chain Specialist will own, drive and deliver measureable improvements in procurement planning for the raw materials, packaging, production categories and on-time delivery measured by WCM metrics.

This position requires frequent interaction among staff levels and across internal and external customers and suppliers, most notably Sales, Manufacturing, Marketing, Finance, R&D, & Customer Service.

The individual will have responsibility for problem solving and decision making, improving purchasing planning processes, and reducing working capital while ensuring the security of supply. This position requires effective collaboration with the  Global organization and must have the  ability to make rapid independent decisions based on supplier conditions, inventory, internal customer needs and/or market changes.

This job consists of:

–       Organising the delivery of completed products

–       Tracking of components/products throughout the transportation process to ensure agreed deadlines are upheld

–       Take preventative actions to ensure any risk of delays/errors throughout the process is mitigated

–       Logistical control of incoming orders

–       Participating on the production plan

–       Vendor Management

–       Monitoring of inventory and providing reports on same

–       Updating IT systems with real time dates

–       Forecasting demand and supply

–       Recommending process improvements

–       Report writing

–       Customer order management from receipt to delivery at the customer

–       To assist with the Customer Service function as required

Essential Functions

1. Supply Chain Maintenance (35% time)

2. Logistical control of finished outgoing goods (20% time)

3. Managing inventory levels (20% time)

4. Supply chain planning (15% time)

5. Process improvement (5% time)

6. Report writing (5% time)

Qualifications / Experience 

– Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics

– 3 years experience in Supply Chain

– Experience in Manufacturing / Assembly environment
