Structural Engineer

We have a new opportunity with a well-established engineering consultancy based in Roscommon. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, our client are looking to strengthen its team by hiring a Structural Engineer.
As a Structural Engineer you will typically be responsible for designing the structural elements of buildings and ensuring they are safe, compliant and economical to construct.
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Structural design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber buildings.
  • Carrying out structural calculations and preparing engineering reports.
  • Designing foundations, beams, columns, retaining walls and other structural elements.
  • Producing structural drawings and specifications.
  • Working closely with architects to ensure structural and architectural designs integrate effectively.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and local authorities.
  • Conducting site inspections during construction.
  • Ensuring projects comply with Irish Building Regulations, Eurocodes and BCAR requirements.
  • Supporting projects from concept design through planning, tender and construction.

Experience required:
  • Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • The suitably Structural Engineer should have at least 5+ years’ experience working within a consultancy.
  • Experience using structural analysis software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, Robot or similar).
  • AutoCAD and ideally Revit knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Irish Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
  • Good communication and project coordination skills.
  • Driving Licence and own car is essential
  • Must be currently in Ireland, eligible to work and take up a full-time position in the coming weeks.
