Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop test approaches and test plans to test application enhancements and changes against documented business requirements, in a manner which results in a high quality solution meeting the functional and non-functional requirements of the end user.
  • Execute and document test approach, test plans, and scenarios
  • Work closely with designers, developers, and business SMEs to effectively assure delivery of a quality project
  • Support continuous improvement of team quality management practices, such as defect management, integration testing, and testing automation
  • Act as test lead for large sized projects
  • Independently test multiple applications with minimal supervision
  • Coordinate test plans with multiple testers
  • Communicate directly with clients
  • Write the PDD for projects
  • Create high level metrics and reporting for clients

 

Role Requirements:

  • 5 + years’ experience developing testing artefacts, such as test plans and test cases
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or a related field preferred; or a high school education and equivalent work experience in business analysis and application development
  • 5 + years’ experience being on projects or leading them with testing efforts with both onshore and offshore coordination
  • 4 + years’ experience with manual and automated testing software systems
  • Experience with user-cantered design and usability testing
  • Experience working with multiple software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology
  • 2 + years’ experience operating within teams using the Agile SCRUM process
  • 2 + years‘ with SQL Development
  • Strong customer and business focus
  • Strong communications skills
  • Experience with test driven or behaviour driven development practices
  • Advanced knowledge of PC, client/server, and network environments
  • Microsoft PC software experience (i.e., Excel, Word, Preferred Access)
  • Willingness to develop industry-related knowledge
  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time
  • Manage requirements and testing matrix
  • Create in depth metrics and analyse that data for trends and improvement opportunities

 

Preferred

  • Annuity, mutual funds, financial services, or life insurance work experience
  • FLMI or other industry- or field-related designations
  • CTFL or other professional testing designation
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • OnBase Experience
