Shift Manager

Our client, a well established global company, based in Longford, is looking to hire a Shift Manager.

Position: Ensures the production floor operation is consistent with the vision of the company/group while providing support and feedback to production personnel. Ensures that the Quality of the product produced in the Production area meets established guideline and Monitors, records, and tracks production and works closely with Technicians / Operators to ensure that schedules are met. Ensure record keeping, and reporting is accurate, and communication is given to all concerned. Works with the other Shift Managers on shift to resolve day to day, and long-term issues.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall Production Quality on the shift – The Shift Manager has fundamental responsibility for all quality on their shift.
  • Maintaining all documentation and systems in line with System requirements and the requirements of ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 Quality Systems requirements
  • Managing personnel issues on the shift, including allocation of work duties to personnel.
  • Responsibility for Health & Safety issues on the shift.
  • Addressing Absenteeism issues with Staff.
  • Addressing Disciplinary issues with Staff on the shift.
  • Technical assistance on the Shift, when required.
  • Preparing Shift documentation and completing production records at the end of the shift – Inputting information onto the IQMS system.
  • Strives to achieve high utilisation, high yield, and low cost of quality.
  • Plan / co-ordinate training, development, and performance reviews of operators.
  • Uses and understands basic computer tools/programs for analysing results and/or compiling reports.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of a Degree in Management or at least 2-3 years’ experience in Supervisory / Management. in the
  • Experience in the injection molding / Medical Device industry would be a distinct advantage but not an essential requirement
  • Preferably have some knowledge of Real time monitoring systems.
  • Must have knowledge in computer systems; integrated manufacturing systems; word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
