Senior Scientist Assay Development
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assay Development Scientist to join a start-up organisation based in the North-West. As the new Assay Development Scientist, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of an assay development program with respect to both lateral flow and other rapid point of care test platforms. The candidate will develop, optimise, and validate clinical biomarker lateral flow tests and other point of care assays, alongside supporting data analysis for clinical studies. They will also support the transfer of assays into commercialisation.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions
Characterisation, clinical validation and utilisation of innovative biomarkers and potential companion diagnostics.
Responsible for design, sourcing, implementation, day to day oversight, and delivery of biomarker and diagnostic test development and analysis.
Help design and support biomarker research strategies.
Support the development and validation of clinically applicable diagnostic assays with external service laboratories if required.
Coordinate and monitor sample collection, handling and analysis in product development and clinical studies where necessary.
Collaborate with engineering colleagues to design and contribute to data analysis plans.
Conduct research and development directed toward biomarker optimisation.
Optimise existing platforms to achieve desired levels of stability and performance.
Participate and assist in the development of usability and technical specifications.
