Senior Quality Control Analyst

Job Title: Senior Quality Control Analyst

Location: Tallaght, Co. Dublin

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Analyst to join their laboratory team in Tallaght, Co. Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for sampling and testing raw materials to ensure they meet established quality standards before use in manufacturing. This role involves working with analytical instruments, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal quality requirements.

The QC Analyst will work closely with quality, procurement, and warehouse teams to support supplier quality management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate sampling of incoming raw materials in accordance with established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct chemical, physical, and where required microbiological testing on raw materials using analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, FTIR, titration, pH measurement, and moisture analysis.
  • Compare analytical results against established specifications to ensure materials meet quality standards prior to approval.
  • Record and maintain accurate test results in laboratory notebooks and laboratory information systems (LIMS).
  • Review supplier Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) to verify compliance with internal quality specifications.
  • Prepare internal quality reports and issue Certificates of Analysis where required.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or deviations, supporting investigation processes where required.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure suppliers meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Communicate material quality issues with suppliers and participate in supplier quality assessments or audits where necessary.
  • Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure correct sampling and storage of raw materials.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment including HPLC, GC, and other analytical instruments to ensure accurate testing results.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience working in a Quality Control laboratory environment, ideally within pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or FMCG industries.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, and FTIR.
  • Familiarity with GMP and GLP regulated environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with laboratory data management systems such as LIMS.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
