Reporting to the CI Program Manager, the role will from part of a Project Team responsible for deploying Operational Excellence Program in the Galway site. The successful candidate must be able to identify waste and scope and advance project to enhance performance across multiple metrics through the use of lean principles. The individual will provide input and be actively involved in the successful introduction of the elements and tools that make up the system.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Primary Objectives of Position:


  • Identify and participate in Operational Excellence Projects with a ‘Hands On’ ‘Self Starter’ approach
  • Transformation through Operational Excellence using Lean Tools and Principles. Identify and implement programs for continuous improvement opportunities that sustain gains
  • Act as a ‘Change Agent’ in the introduction of Operational Excellence and drive / sustain improvements with Operations Team
  • Provide guidance in prioritising the areas of opportunity
  • Involvement in Strategic initiatives around Lean initiatives to drive improvements
  • Develop, maintain and review Lean training materials to raise the level of awareness and competence around Lean as an Operational Excellence Tool
  • Provide coaching and mentoring in Lean principles to both direct reports and cross functional personnel


  • Primary degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
  • Preferably a degree/diploma in Lean/6Sigma


  • Good problem solving skills with an innovative approach using Lean / 6sigma 
  • Proven experience in Operational Excellence with emphasis on Lean Tool deployment 
  • Good operational knowledge of Medical Device Industry with 3-5 year experience of manufacturing or similar GMP environment
  • Proven ability as a Change Agent with ability to influence and communicate at all levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated training and coaching skills
  • Proven ability to adapt to work priorities in response to a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience in leading Kaizen workshops, process mapping and Standard work initiatives
  • Ensures adherence to quality and safety standards with all improvement efforts
