Senior Logistics Control Manager

The Senior Logistics Control Manager will lead a team of analysts supporting end-to-end supply chain activities to meet cost, service, and quality objectives for assigned manufacturing sites and/or replenishment lanes. They will drive improvements in analytics and be a forward thinker with logistics strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire and develop a team of logistics professionals
  • Align team members’ individual performance goals to organizational objectives
  • Prioritize areas of engagement across the organization
  • Ensure shipment delays and bottlenecks are being proactively addressed to ensure on-time delivery
  • Ensure compliance to preferred carrier guides
  • Ensure compliance to mode and expedited freight policies
  • Measure and manage lead-time variability, including in-transit lead-time, and work with logistics partners to address performance gaps, ensuring accurate lead time master data in planning systems
  • Lead regular review of logistics financial results and provide input into financial forecasting process
  • Reduce freight damages through analysis and root cause identification and resolution
  • Partner with Corporate and Regional transportation teams to manage carrier performance and influence overall logistics strategy
  • Drive education of core stakeholders on key supply chain concepts and policies to achieve broad alignment across stakeholders
  • Utilize Lean methodologies to identify and eliminate waste in the value chain
  • Provide options and recommendations to the business to balance cost, service, and inventory objectives
  • Partner across manufacturing and supply chain planning to optimize logistics operations, such as improving container / truck load utilization or driving reduced total costs through minimum order quantities
  • Lead contingency planning and risk management activities
  • Partner to drive improvements in analytical tools
  • Implement policies to drive alignment to best practices

Requirements:

  • Level 8 Bachelor’s degree required, with a major in Supply Chain, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • 7+ years in logistics / transportation management or trade operations with 5+ years global management experience
  • Knowledge of transportation industry best practices
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Prior experience in a Logistics or Planning Control Tower preferred
  •  Ability to drive results and demonstrate improvements in key KPIs.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain concepts and distribution strategies
  • Understanding of supply chain planning concepts
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, organizational ability and follow through
  • Detail oriented and ability to organize large amounts of work and data
  • Have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Plans effectively and works well in a team or individually 
  • Ability to work with little supervision
