Collins McNicholas currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lean Engineer with one of their clients in the Mid-West Region. This role is a permanent position.

 

The following are the key requirements for the role:

Responsibilities:

  • Technical expert and site leader for LEAN.  Drive long-term planning and implementation of Six Sigma and Lean projects which drive operational excellence and financial results 
  • Identify opportunities, financially justify projects, negotiate resources, and launch project teams in accordance with the strategy 
  • Lead and personally execute transformation projects across the organization generating tangible business results 
  • Work seamlessly with cross-functional team members within and across other business units 
  • Train direct reports and production staff in monitoring and sustaining production goals, metrics and visual factory 
  • Lead teams to execute projects utilizing appropriate methodology (Manufacturing, Transactional, DFM) to include tracking project status and results, anticipating and removing project barriers, and developing team members 
  • Identify integration issues with other projects/businesses and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/ business owners to accomplish the project goals 
    Provide direction and coaching to direct reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, MS a plus, preferably in Engineering
  • A minimum of 4 years demonstrated track record of Lean implementations is required 
  • Experience in the manufacturing of high technology medical devices, healthcare or a regulated industry is preferred 
  • Experience with MES system function and implementation is preferred.
  • Solid project management, team leadership and people management skills required
  • Previous experience managing other technical individuals strongly desired
  • Requires knowledge of other functions that provide regular inputs (i.e., Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations)
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mentorship and knowledge transfer skills a must 
  • Must be driven and have an enthusiasm to learn and develop key business skills 
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple levels in a matrixed organizational structure is essential 
  • Results oriented ability to achieve department objectives in spite of obstacles
  • Balance requirements of cost, speed and quality
  • Supporting plans, to meet the production schedule requirements, and enhance the organization’s efficiency, productivity and product quality while meeting the operational objectives
  • Interface with, Quality, Engineering and other technical departments to achieve organization objectives
