Senior Finance Manager | Waterford

Our client, a leading global manufacturing organisation has a requirement for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team.

This is a highly visible role that allows you to build partnerships with the business, help influence senior stakeholders and shape the strategic business plan. You will be a key member of the Leadership team, operating in a matrix organization and managing a high-performing team of 5 direct reports. This is a 12-month contract position initially with great scope for permanency (the previous incumbent was promoted internally). Hybrid working options along with a very competitive base salary and benefits package.


Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description available on request):

  • Lead the financial management activities in support of delivering business strategies.
  • Challenge and question how things are done to drive results and foster a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Actively contribute to the delivery of overall financial and business performance, sales/cost savings/financial target achievement.
  • Provide expert advice to the business by proactively identifying opportunities to meet business objectives and mitigate risks.  
  • Execute simplification projects and implementation of best practices.
  • Provide analytical support to strategic activities such as business development, due diligence, third-party deals, partnerships, business evaluation and divestment proposals.
  • Analyse monthly reports, actuals, budgets, plans and forecasts and provide commentary on key variances/business drivers and any actions required.
  • Be the point of contact for business colleagues for financial issues by representing Finance and being an ambassador for the Finance function.

What the ideal candidate looks like:

  • 5+ years PQE (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA).
  • Proven experience in a leadership role working within the Finance function in a global manufacturing organisation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships between finance and non-finance.
  • Understanding of financial governance systems and processes e.g. SAP, Cognos, Workday, Cadency, Siera
