We are partnering with a Galway based medical device multi-national client as they hire a Senior Equipment Engineer to support manufacturing operations on a 12 month contract. This is an exciting role focusing on optimisation and expansion within their equipment engineering department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the selection, specification, and procurement of manufacturing equipment.
Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Monitor and analyse equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency, implementing improvements to maximise uptime.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues that impact manufacturing operations.
Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance strategies and schedules.
Provide technical support and expertise to maintenance, manufacturing, and process engineering teams.
Ensure compliance with equipment safety standards and maintain awareness of manufacturer updates, technical notices, and best practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, reliability, and process optimisation.
Lead or support cross-functional technical projects, including the introduction of new technologies and manufacturing capabilities.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technical team members as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience, or 2 years' experience with a relevant advanced degree.
Strong experience in manufacturing equipment engineering, maintenance, and reliability improvement.
Proven ability to lead technical projects and deliver process improvements.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams.
Project management experience is advantageous.
