My client a global manufacturing company based in Longford is looking to hire a Senior Buyer to join their Supply Chain team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate, who has strong negotiation and purchasing skills, to develop their career in this growing organisation.
Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer:
- Responsible for adherence to Purchasing policies and procedures
- Executes buying strategies
- Evaluate vendor reliability and follows up on any problems regarding the use of purchased items
- Purchase materials in line with inventory targets
- Track the status of orders communicating and expediting as needed
- Maintain the accuracy of the master data related to their products
- Internal communication with different departments
- Assist in resolving issues regarding damaged/inferior products, returns, invoice discrepancies, etc
- Identify savings opportunities and secure the best pricing options
- Maintain strong communication with suppliers; resolve issues in a timely manner
- Proactively mitigate any potential problems in the supply of materials
- Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
- Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
Requirements of the Buyer:
- Degree in business or a related field preferred
- Must have 5+ years of experience in a buyer role
- Computerized purchasing experience is essential
- Experience in purchasing and/or inventory is essential
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
