Our client, a leading company in Sligo, is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer.
Your main responsibility will be to support new and ongoing projects on software/database and controls applications in manufacturing sites in Ireland and Europe.
Lead and support manufacturing software system validation compliance with (local) quality and regulatory requirements.
Provide lead design support for PLC’s, robotics, vision systems, labelling, data handling and data management applications.
Execute troubleshooting in support of site engineers for automation and data management systems and ensure quality-compliant documentation of failure modes is maintained and communicated to other sites.
Software testing responsibilities include executing software development life cycle activities from software requirements, design and implementation through design verification.
Responsible to conduct cyber security tests and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements.
Education and Experience
Third level qualification (Cert, Diploma or Degree) in Engineering, IT or relevant STEM area with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar position.
Experience in the pharma / medical device industry
Knowledge of robotics, vision systems and controls systems (e.g. Siemens /Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation, CI Vision, Cognex etc)
Interacts well with diverse groups within Engineering / IT and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
