We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join an indigenous organisation based on the South side of Cork City on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be an authentic, balanced leader that takes the long-term view to customer management and will play a pivotal role in driving the sales strategy, managing a high-performing sales team, and contributing to the growth of the company. About the role:
The Sales Manager will have four direct reports and will be responsible for developing and executing sales plans, fostering key client relationships, and implementing analytical approaches to optimise sales performance.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of four direct reports to achieve individual and team sales targets.
Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
Collaborate with the marketing and product development teams to understand client needs and preferences.
Utilise data-driven insights to assess sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimise results.
Develop and maintain sales reports and dashboards to track KPIs, measure progress, and provide actionable recommendations.
Work closely with the finance department to develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets.
Monitor and analyse variances between actual and forecasted sales, taking proactive measures to address deviations.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Proven experience in a sales management role within the packaging industry or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities – a good people person.
Ability to analyse the market and identify market opportunities.
Skilled at lead generation and lead conversion and managing performance to achieve targets.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing successful sales strategies.
