Our client, a leading multinational in Cavan, is seeking a Robotics and Vision Automation Engineer.

Primary Objectives

  • The Automation Engineer is responsible for consulting any SOP’s for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.

  • He/she must help establish with the Engineering & EHS Manager the departmental goals, schedules and timetables for activities.

  • Establish communication lines with all other departments e.g. Manufacturing, Q.A., Materials, Human Resources, and Finance.

  • Ensure compliance with International Global Standards, GMP & environmental requirements.

  • Manage all plant automation systems ensuring compliance CFR 21/11 and other related policies and procedures.


Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure all plant automation systems are maintained as required.

  • Project Management:

    • Development and maintenance of Industrial Robotic solutions, including robot programming, gripper design and equipment cell configuration.

    • Understanding of and experience with 3D object recognition, real-time machine vision, pattern recognition, sensor alignment and calibration.

    • Integration of Robots, and machine vision systems with PLC’s, HMI’s, etc.

    • Configuring of comms and networks

    • Develop the understanding of the controls and functionality of each machine area.

    • Interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings

    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through defined CI Project Methodologies

  • Problem Solving:

  • Facilitates root cause analysis for equipment downtime.

  • Organizational Interface:

    • Prepares written communication. Conveys information effectively through formal and informal documents with team members, designers, technicians, and other technical personnel, both internal and external, using appropriate communication protocols; obtains approval to proceed with proposed action plans.

    • Builds relationships. Initiates and cultivates open, honest relationships with colleagues, customers, contractors, and vendors by establishing rapport, developing an understanding of others’ needs, promoting common goals, and following through on commitments, e.g. offers assistance; interacts effectively with stakeholders at appropriate levels of the organization.

Education Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline

Knowledge

  • 5 years relevant experience in Engineering.

  • Ability to organize, motivate and understand people.

  • Ability to work on platforms, scaffolding & ladders.
