There is an exciting opportunity for a Risk Associate to join our client's RIsk Team. Our client is one of Ireland's largest Insurance providers and they are looking to expand their Risk Team. This is a full-time, permanent role and will operate on a hybrid work schedule. Reporting to the Risk Manager, the newly appointed Risk Associate will be responsible for maintaining a robust Risk Management framework and work to continuously review and improve all processes related to risk. This role would suit someone coming from a background in Risk/Audit and will have a working knowledge of risk frameworks within financial services.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the maintenance of a robust Risk Management Framework aimed at identifying, evaluating, overseeing, tracking, and communicating risks that impact the company.
Foster collaboration with business units to ensure timely risk reporting, meticulous register upkeep, and transparent communication of risk-related issues and incidents. Keep key Committees informed about shifts in risk landscape, especially those nearing or exceeding risk tolerance thresholds.
Play an active role in nurturing a proactive risk culture that anticipates potential hazards, promptly escalates concerns, and supports the identification of risk acceptances aligned with the defined risk appetite.
Aid in the preparation of comprehensive risk reports on a quarterly basis for various decision-making bodies including the Working Group, Steering Group, Control Forum, Audit & Risk Committee, and Board. Additionally, fulfill ad hoc reporting needs as they arise.
Contribute to the annual Compliance Risk Assessment, Fraud Risk Assessments, and regular risk reporting to the Group. Maintain a consistent cycle of internal audit action updates on a monthly basis.
Collaborate on crafting and delivering effective risk training sessions tailored to pertinent stakeholders' requirements.
Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging risks and potential opportunities on the horizon.
Establish effective channels of communication with the Group's risk functions to implement localized policy and procedural adaptations.
Engage in ad hoc tasks as needed to support dynamic risk management demands
Key Requirements
Recognised Risk Management/Compliance/Audit qualification
2-3 years of experience working in a risk-focused role within financial services, preferably insurance but this is not a hard requirement.
Working knowledge of the regulatory framework for risk within financial services
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work towards deadlines
