Location: Galway, Ireland (Hybrid Working Model)
Duration: 12-month contract starting April 2024
As an R&D Engineer, you will:
Design and develop new medical devices from concept to implementation, focusing on structural heart and aortic solutions.
Conduct in silico studies and finite element analysis to answer complex life sciences questions.
Utilise computational modelling for design optimization, concept selection, and failure analysis.
Deliver projects within designated timelines, collaborating closely with the Modelling & Simulation group.
Share knowledge and develop collectively within the departmental FEA team.
Ensure adherence to industry policies and standards throughout the R&D process.
Recommend system and process enhancements based on computational data.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support decision-making and project advancement.
Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Finite Element Analysis, or an advanced degree in a relevant field.
Demonstrated competence in computational modelling and technical problem-solving.
Ability to work independently on moderately complex projects with general supervision.
