An exciting opportunity for an experienced R&D Engineer to join a leading Medical Device client for an initial 12 month fixed term contract. As the R&D Engineer II, you will join the Endoscopy team and provide design support, and complete sustaining activity as they carry out their continued research in this amazing and complexed field.


This is a broad role and will be suitable for an R&D Engineer that enjoys working cross functionally and as part of a warm and friendly team. The successful applicant will work closely with Design Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Process Development teams to sustains and develops products, materials, processes, for projects of moderate complexity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: product design and development, material testing, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations, report preparation, and process/test documentation.
  • Maintains design history related technical notes (notebooks, protocols, validations, qualifications, manufacturing documents, etc.).
  • Work, with guidance, to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
  • Summarizes, analyses, and draws conclusions from test results.
  • Responsible for engineering documentation.
  • Communicate changes in project milestones and writes project reports as required.
  • Must be able to effectively work within a multidisciplinary and international organisation.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.

 

Qualifications  

  • HETAC Level 8 Degree in a relevant Technical Discipline, preferably Mechanical, Polymer, Materials or Biomedical Engineering. 
  • 3+ years industry experience 
  • Strong R&D/technical experience preferably in the health care industry 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Working knowledge of Endoscopic medical devices & procedures
  • SolidWorks and Minitab experience.
