Quality Specialist

An excellent opportunity for a Quality Specialist to join a world-leading manufacturing organisation on a permanent basis in the Waterford area.

The Quality Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the plant QA System to the expectations of the company, the customer, and the ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Overview of Main Responsibilities (full job description available on request):

  • Senior quality contact within the department and the point of contact for 2nd and 3rd party quality audits.

  • Meet and exceed the Daily, Monthly, and Annual KPIs defined for the department as set by the company senior management.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by successfully managing all customer concerns in a timely fashion and with a sense of urgency.

  • Investigate breaches of the established processes of the factory and bring internal issues to a satisfactory conclusion with thorough root cause investigation and corrective action.

  • Maintain the QMS to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and various customer-defined standards

  • Layered audits of internal systems, including formal internal audits.

  • Establish a partnership approach with both customers and suppliers to ensure all requirements are understood and met.

  • Work closely with the EHS Specialist to ensure the success of the Integrated ISO Management System (9001, 14001, 45001).

  • Act as a support and advisor to the Managers, Supervisors, Line Leaders, and all personnel as needed.

  • Direct the daily work of a team of Quality Control personnel.

  • Through the study of data, determine quality trends in all aspects of the business and present to the management team in defined forums.

What the ideal candidate looks like:

  • Degree in Quality, Engineering, Science, or Business or at least 5 years experience in a senior role in lieu of qualification.

  • Auditor in ISO 9001 (Lead Auditor preferred).

  • Proven track record of people and systems management (SAP proficiency).

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

  • Lean / OpEx experience.

  • Compliance experience.
