QC Test Engineer

Collins McNicholas currently have an exciting opportunity for a QC Test Engineer (Manual) with one of their clients in the Mid-West Region. This role is a permanent position.

 

The following are the key requirements for the role:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, generation and execution of software test protocols
  • Collation and reporting of findings during all types of testing
  • Setup and configuration of test environments and platforms
  • Automation of test protocols using test automation tools, writing of automation scripts
  • Stress and performance testing of software using test automation tools
  • Specification of test plans and supporting documentation
  • Verification of risk management strategies
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing strategies and productivity

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent related engineering discipline is required.
  • 2 years+ experience working as a Software Test Engineer with proven software test responsibilities
  • Experience of automating test cases using test automation tools and scripts
  • Ability to understand business and functional requirements and translate them into test scenarios/cases
  • Ability to use automation/performance tools and create/modify automated test scripts
  • Knowledge of web based applications and web protocols such as HTML, AJAX, ASPX and CSS
  • Some knowledge of SQL and databases
  • Knowledge of various software development life cycles and how testing fits in
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of ISO9001 requirements and/or requirements for testing in a regulated environment
  • ISEB Foundation Certification an advantage
